Hanson leads the way

FLORA HANSON was the star of the show as Harpenden Swimming Club returned to competitive action at the Maxwell Open Meet in Aylesbury.

Heading a group of 17 entrants from the club, Hanson took gold in the 100m Backstroke and 100m Freestyle and would have gained three other medals in the 200m Backstroke, 200m Freestyle and 200m Individual Medley had it not been for the fact that she was too fast for the events.

Other medalists included Abby Smith (silver in the 200m Breaststroke), Amy Thompson (silver 200m Butterfly), and Duncan Nicoll (gold 50m Freestyle and silver 100m Breaststroke).

The club have recently taken on more pool time and are keen to recruit more swimmers especially in the 7-9 age group.
