A GARDENER from St Albans will create a green masterpiece at the Chelsea Flower Show.

Groundskeeper for Allington Court & Tenterden House Nursing homes, Bricketwood, Katie Wetherall will make a special sensory garden for patients with dementia to enjoy.

"It's a touching, feeling and smelling experience," she said.

"The garden is created around a path shaped like a figure of eight because people with dementia do not like endings.

"There are lots of flowers and smells and things people can touch."

"It is very colourful and very wildlife friendly."

The Chelsea Flower Show is open to the public on Tuesday, May 20.
