Prison for knife frenzy mum

A MOTHER who stabbed an elderly neighbour in a vicious knife attack while high on a cocktail of drink and drugs was jailed today.

Kelly Pasquali of Stephens Way, Redbourn was sentenced to three-and-a-half years in prison after admitting a charge of causing grievious bodily harm with intent.

St Albans Crown Court heard how Pasquali, 30, launched her ruthless drink and drug-fuelled attack on 60-year-old Rosemary Duffy after wrongly accusing her of smacking her son.

After climbing through a window of the pensioner's home Pasquali began repeatedly stabbing her in the stomach, leg and arm on the evening of January 12 this year.

Mrs Duffy was rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Passing sentence, judge John Plumstead told Pasquali she had built herself up into a state of agitation on the night.

He jailed her for a total of 42 months telling her she would serve half in prison before being released.
