TWO thieves assaulted a man and stole his car after forcing him off the road as he drove through Radlett.
The victim was driving along Shenley Hill when a small, dark vehicle drove into the back of his black BMW.
When he pulled over and got out of his car the suspects assaulted the victim, claimed they were armed and made off with his vehicle.
The incident occurred at around 10.25pm on Monday, July 28, and police are appealing for witnesses and information.
The first thief was a man in his 20s with a shaven head, which had dark stubble.
He is described as clean-shaven and around 5ft 9ins tall and of a slim build. It is believed he was wearing a dark top and spoke with a London accent.
The police have given little information about the second suspect describing him as a man wearing dark clothing and a hat.
Detective Sergeant Steven Angell said: “We would like to reassure members of the public that crimes of this nature are extremely rare in Hertfordshire.
“If you are in an accident on an unlit road and your car is still able to be driven, it is safer to move to a well-lit area before exchanging details.
"If you feel unsafe, it is acceptable to take the other vehicle’s registration number and report the accident within 24 hours.”
Telephone the Hertfordshire Constabulary non-emergency number with any information on 0845 33 00 222.
Or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
