AN 89-year-old man who was hit by a car as he crossed a road on Sunday afternoon, has died.
The St Albans pensioner was taken to the QEII hospital in Welwyn Garden City following the accident at around 3.45pm in Hatfield Road, St Albans, but died later that evening.
It is believed the man was crossing Hatfield Road at the junction with Granville Road when a red Ford Fiesta collided with him.
The road was closed for more than two hours as police and ambulance crews dealt with the incident.
