Race day winnings for Bob's charity

THOUSANDS of people clubbed together to raise £35,000 for charity at a family racing day at Huntingdon Racecourse this Easter.

Local sporting star Bob Wilson's Willow Foundation charity, which funds special days out for seriously ill young adults, held the fundraising event on Bank Holiday Monday.

As well as the racing, there was free children's entertainment in the form of bouncy castles, Punch and Judy, and an Easter quiz.

Money was raised through sponsored races, ticket sales and a raffle as well as sales of Bob Wilson's books which race-goers were able to get signed by the former Arsenal and Scotland goalkeeper on the day.

Bob, who lives in Brookmans Park, said: "This fun event at Huntingdon Racecourse represented exactly what the Willow Foundation is all about - spending special time with family and friends and creating wonderful memories.

"It was a fantastic day and your support means we can provide many more special days for young adults living with serious illness."
