Two horses die in barn fire
TWO horses sadly died in a ferocious stable fire last night on a farm in Shenley.
Two fire crews from St Albans and one crew from Borehamwood were called to Pursley Farm in London Road near Radlett shortly after midnight.
Unfortunately there was little firefighters could do to rescue the horses who were trapped inside the blazing barn.
Firefighter Steve Langford said: "When we arrived the stable was well alight, it had been going for quite some time."
Crews tackled the fire with three jets for nearly two hours, but sadly the horses were not saved.
Fire investigators are now trying to determine the cause of the blaze.
