POLICE have released CCTV images of a man they want to speak to in connection with a serious assault.
On Saturday March 1 a 30 year-old man from Waltham Cross was attacked by a man in Parkway, Welwyn Garden City at around 1am.
The man ran off in the direction of the Cork and Cask Pub, leaving the victim with serious face injuries.
Now police are hoping to speak to a man who was pictured in the town centre near Pizza Hut shortly before the incident.
PC Karen Webb, the investigating officer, said: "I am really keen to speak to anyone who recognises this male or knows anything about the incident which could help our investigation.
"This assault left the victim with some nasty injuries and it's really important the public help in finding the person responsible."
If anyone recognises the man in the CCTV stills or knows anything about the incident, call the police non-emergency line on 0845 33 00 222 or alternatively call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
